World Palm Symposium 2015, Colombia
World Palm Symposium 2015, Colombia

The continued success of the World Palm Symposium is a testament to the strong ties within the palm research and conservation community. The organising and scientific committees are deeply committed to ensuring that this symposium is as accessible as possible to our community, particularly students and professionals in lower income countries, which goes a long way towards fostering capacity building, training the next generation of palm scientists, and helping keep the community vibrant, collaborative and impactful. If you would like to exhibit at the event, be a sponsor or donor, please get in touch with the organising committee at palms2026@nus.edu.sg.

Your support will allow us to improve the symposium in various ways, including but not limited to, keeping registration and other fees affordable for the community, support travel for keynote speakers, student prizes, and potentially also travel grants.

Founded in 1956, the International Palm Society (IPS) is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the research, education, and conservation of palms and their natural habitats worldwide. The Society publishes Palms, a peer-reviewed scientific journal that has been in continuous publication for 70 years. Through the IPS Grants Program, the Society has awarded more than half a million dollars to over 125 research and education projects across six continents. Its flagship conservation initiative, Save the Species, has helped protect endangered palm species globally, with recent efforts in Madagascar, New Caledonia, Colombia, and the Comoro Islands.
